 Mr Tetsuichiro MIZOGUCHI has been awarded the Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendation for FY2015
              
     The Foreign Minister's Commendations award presentation ceremony to Mr Tetsuichiro MIZOGUCHI was held at the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong on 19 October.
              
     Mr MIZOGUCHI has held the post of chairman of the Hong Kong Kagoshima Exchange Association, which was established in 1999, since its inception. Mr MIZOGUCHI has provided a wide range of assistance and recommendations for the organisation of Japanese language and Japanese culture training for university students from Hong Kong and Macao to Kagoshima Prefecture as well as exchange activities with local students. Mr MIZOGUCHI has significantly devoted his efforts to promoting exchanges and mutual understanding between Hong Kong and Japan and to creating a positive feeling towards Japan.
              
     Moreover,since 2003 Mr MIZOGUCHI has set up scholarships at his own expense to universities in Hong Kong. Besides, he was appointed External Professional Advisor of the Community College of City University of Hong Kong in 2013 and Advisor of the Research Centre for Comparative Japanese Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2014. Mr MIZOGUCHI has held regular lectures and meetings on campus, participated in various types of events, and his outstanding achievements in developing Japanese language education in Hong Kong are highly acknowledged.
              
     As mentioned above, Mr MIZOGUCHI has for many years made a remarkable contribution to the promotion of exchanges between Hong Kong and Japan, as well as various kinds of support to student activities. To mark his distinguished contribution, this year's Commendation was therefore awarded to Mr Tetsuichiro MIZOGUCHI.
