Introduction of services provided by Public Relations and Cultural Affairs

The aim of the Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Division is to bring about better understanding of Japanese culture and facilitate cultural exchanges between Japan and Hong Kong. Our services can be summarised as follows:

  1.

Exchange programmes in Japan

(a)
The Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship programme enables scholarship students to study in Japan and the selection process is co-ordinated via the Consulate-General.

(b)
We answer telephone and email enquiries about exchange programmes. In addition, exchange programme information seminars and exchange student advisory services are jointly organised by the Consulate-General, with the Japan Universities Alumni Society (JUAS), and are held during the summer vacation each year.

(c)
We hold exchange briefings and workshops for students on request from educational institutions. During these briefings, exchange students are able to familiarise themselves in advance with the lifestyle in Japan.

(d)
The Consulate-General plays a supportive role in co-ordinating the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), which is administered twice a year in Hong Kong.
