Visa (Important Notice)

Due to the large number of people currently wishing to apply for visas, it is difficult for visa applicants to make an appointment to submit their visa applications in person at the Japan Visa Application Center. Visa applicants who fulfill the relevant conditions can also choose to submit a JAPAN eVISA application (a single entry temporary visit, for the purposes of tourism) or apply through the Accredited Agencies.
 
【Important】(Please read before you apply the visa.)
  ・Submission and collection of visa applications are processed at the Japan Visa Application Centre. (Except for diplomatic/official matters and humanitarian assistance.)
Relocation of Japan Visa Application Centre.
・In principle, please make an appointment prior to submission, but you can apply without advance reservation from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm on a first-come, first-served basis. Please check the website of the Japan Visa Application Centre for the number of people that can be accepted.
・The following people can apply without advance reservation.
(1)Holders of Certificate of Eligibility can apply from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
(2)You can apply for the Working Holiday Visa from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm during the application period.
・Some nationals who wish to apply for the temporary visa may apply for a proxy application through the Accredited Agencies
  ・Be aware of fraudulent website, social media, emails in an attempt to extract payments from visa applicants
 

・Other than the Japan Visa Application Centre and the Accredited Agencies, we have nothing to do with it.

  1 Visa
    In principle, foreigner whose nationality is other than the national or citizens of the countries & territories with visa exemption, visas will be required to enter Japan.
     
  2 Criteria of Visa Issuance
    In principle, Japanese visa will be issued to an applicant, when he/she fills all of the following requirements and the issuance is regarded as reasonable.
    (1)   The applicant possesses a valid passport and is entitled for the re-entry to a country of which he/she is a national or citizen or a country of his/her residence.
    (2) All submitted documents shall be authentic, completed and satisfactory.
    (3)   The activities to be engaged in while in Japan, or the civil status or the position of the applicant, and the period of stay shall meet the requirements for the status of residence and the period of stay stipulated in the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act. (Cabinet Order No.319 of 1951. hereinafter referred to as “the Act”)
    (4) The applicant shall not fall under any of the items of Article 5, Paragraph1 of the Act.
       
  3 Application procedure for a visa
    For Hong Kong or Macau residents who are currently residing in Hong Kong or Macau are eligible to make visa applications at Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong. Temporary visitors are not eligible for visa applications. For those who are living other than Hong Kong or Macau, please consult with the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General in which are currently residing.
     
    (1) Temporary Visitor Visa
      For those who have temporary visits of up to 90 days for such purposes as sightseeing; visits to relatives, friends, or acquaintances; and short-term business affairs.
      (Notice) All of the above purposes of journey to Japan exclude engaging in any activity involving the management of business or remuneration.
・People's Republic of China (PRC)
      ・HKDI / Macau Travel Permit
      ・Russia / The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries / Georgia
      ・Other Countries or Regions
      ・Domestic Helpers
      ・Multiple Temporary Visitor Visas for the Nationals of People’s Republic of China (PRC)
      ・Multiple Temporary Visitor Visas for Holders of HKDI / Macau Travel Permit 
      ・Multiple Temporary Visitor Visas for the Nationals of India
      ・Multiple Temporary Visitor Visas for the Nationals of Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam
       
    (2) The JAPAN eVISA (Electronic Visa)
      Foreign nationals, other than the national or citizens of the countries & territories with visa exemption, are eligible to apply for an electronic visa (hereinafter referred to as a “eVISA”) for a single entry temporary visit, for the purposes of tourism, from March 1st 2024.
       
    (3) Visa Application for Holders of Certificate of Eligibility
      Foreigners who would like to perform remunerative work in Japan or for long term stays over 90 days in Japan etc. which are for purposes other than that of temporary visitor, should apply for a “Certificate of Eligibility” in Japan at the Regional Immigration Services Bureau of Japan nearby before the visa application.
       
    (4) Working Holiday Scheme
      With the aim of giving young Hong Kong people the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the culture and general way of life of Japan, the working holiday scheme will allow those who meet the conditions to stay on holiday in Japan for up to one year and secondarily to take up employment there in order to supplement their travel funds.
       
    (5) Medical Stay
      The visa is issued to foreign patients wishing to visit Japan for medical purposes (including full medical check-ups). The visa is issued to their accompanying person(s) as well if necessary and as needed.
       
  4 Notice
    Visa fees will be waived for foreign nationals visiting Miyagi, Fukushima, or Iwate prefectures
