 2017 Spring Conferment of Decoration for Mr. Kunio MURAISHI
              
     On 29th April 2017, the Government of Japan announced the 2017 Spring Imperial Decorations. Mr. Kunio MURAISHI, Director of the Japan Society of Macau, received the Order of the Rising Sun, Silver Rays in recognition of his remarkable contribution towards welfare services for Japanese nationals.

Summary of Contributions
     Mr. MURAISHI has served as Director of the Japan Society of Macau for more than 30 years and has contributed significantly to promoting exchanges among the Japanese nationals living in Macau through organizing various Japan-related events. In addition, after establishing the Macao-Japan Chamber of Commerce as a co-founder in 2011, Mr. MURAISHI has served as its Chief Supervisor and has made a notable achievement in the overall development of the Japanese community in Macau.
      Mr. MURAISHI has also made a remarkable contribution towards the work of the Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong. He plays an important role in liaising with the consulate in providing consular services to Japanese nationals (e.g., handling cases of lost or stolen passports for Japanese travelers, emergency medical assistance, etc.) in Macau.
     Mr. MURAISHI was awarded the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2015.
