2018 Autumn Conferment of Decoration Mr. Yuen Man Ying

       On 3rd November 2018, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2018 Autumn Imperial Decorations. Mr. Yuen Man Ying, Chairman and Executive Director of EGL Holdings Company Limited, has been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the increasing the number of visitors from the People's Republic of China to Japan.
  
Summary of Contributions
     Mr. Yuen established EGL Holdings Company Limited in 1987 as Hong Kong local travel agency in Japan. It started in 1995 specializing in Japan travel. Mr. Yuen has close relations with airline companies and he offers consultations on promoting tourism as well as suggesting direct flights to Japan with Japanese prefectural governors whenever they visit Hong Kong.
 
     Moreover, Mr. Yuen recently opened the “OSAKA HINODE HOTEL” in Osaka in November, 2017. In addition, he is also the Tourism Ambassador for as many as 37 prefectures in Japan.
 
     At the time of The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and The Great East Japan Earthquake when the number of tourists to Japan decreased, Mr. Yuen made great efforts to revive the tourism related industries and affected areas by resuming his company’s operations as quickly as possible.
