Mr. Ma Tit Wing, Antonio, Secretary General, The Japan Society of Hong Kong, Awarded the Foreign Minister's Commendation for FY 2018

              
              Mr. Ma Tit Wing, Antonio, Secretary General, The Japan Society of Hong Kong has been awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2018.  

Mr. Ma Tit Wing, Antonio, took office as the Secretary General of “The Japan Society of Hong Kong” (founded in 1964), a core organization in Hong Kong for promoting cultural exchange with Japan, when the Society underwent privatization in 2000. His duty was to strengthen the organization’s structure, and he has been leading the Society’s administration ever since. Mr. MA is in charge of a wide range of projects, including the implementation of Japan-related cultural exchange programmes, organization of activities for the dissemination of Japanese language education, and events for the promotion of studying in Japan. Besides, he also invited relief donations for victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake and initiated fund-raising campaigns for the Kumamoto Earthquake etc., making great contributions to the promotion of Hong Kong people’s understanding towards Japan and the mutual exchange among people of the two places.

              The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awards for individuals and groups who have made outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and regions. Some 205 individuals and 49 groups have been awarded this year, including Mr. MA.
 
　           The Foreign Minister’s Commendation Awarding Ceremony for Mr. MA will be held later in Hong Kong.
