Awarded the Foreign Minister's Commendation for FY 2018
            
              Mr. Wan Tat Kong, Master of Chinese Food Culture has been awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2018.
 
              Mr. Wan Tat Kong has been a chef in Chinese cuisine for over 50 years in Hong Kong, Japan and Canada; and a master chef in a famous hotel restaurant for over 30 years in Japan. In 1988, he became an expertise chef, which is the highest ranking of Chinese cuisine chefs. He was the JETRO Hong Kong Food Culture Ambassador since 2013, and in 2018, he became the Aomori Prefecture「A!Premium」Food Product PR Ambassador.
 
              Mr. Wan Tai Kong has contributed much in promoting Japanese food culture in Hong Kong, as well as facilitating export of Japanese agricultural, forestry and fishery products into Hong Kong; such as demonstrating his own menu using Japanese food products. 
            
              The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awards for individuals and groups who have made outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and regions. Some 205 individuals and 49 groups have been awarded this year, including Mr. Wan.
 
           The Foreign Minister’s Commendation Awarding Ceremony for Mr. Wan will be held later in Hong Kong.
