The Japan Universities Alumni Society Hong Kong (JUAS), Awarded the Foreign Minister's Commendation for FY 2018

              
              The Japan Universities Alumni Society Hong Kong (JUAS) has been awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2018.
 
              The Japan Universities Alumni Society Hong Kong (JUAS) was established in 1974 with the aim of strengthening mutual solidarity among people who share the common experience of having studied in Japan. It is the only organization in Hong Kong that recruits as members students who have returned from Japan. Since 1988, JUAS has been organizing the “Study in Japan Fair” every year, and has been making steady efforts to enhance the knowledge of local students for studying in Japan. Besides, JUAS has been organizing, co-organizing or cooperating with various partners in bringing about different kinds of Japan-related activities to Hong Kong, including its participation in gatherings for students who are heading to study in Japan, its active support towards youth exchange programmes that are initiated by the Japanese Government, and the provision of assistance to victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake by means of holding charity events, etc. It plays significant role in promoting local people’s understanding towards Japan and mutual exchange among people of both places.
            
              The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awards for individuals and groups who have made outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and regions. Some 205 individuals and 49 groups have been awarded this year, including The Japan Universities Alumni Society Hong Kong (JUAS).
 
           The Foreign Minister’s Commendation Awarding Ceremony for The Japan Universities Alumni Society Hong Kong (JUAS) will be held later in Hong Kong.
