The Hong Kong Branch of the Sogetsu Teachers’ Association has been awarded the Consul-General’s Commendation
The Consul-General’s Commendation presentation ceremony for the Hong Kong Branch of the Sogetsu Teachers’ Association was held on 28th October 2024 and the award was presented by Mr Kenichi OKADA, Ambassador, Consul-General of Japan.
The Consul-General’s Commendation is an award, presented by Ambassadors/Consuls-General, in respective countries and regions, to individuals or groups who have contributed to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and foreign countries and regions.
The Hong Kong Branch of the Sogetsu Teachers’ Association, established in 1969, has not only organised a number of highly representative Sogetsu-style Japanese flower arrangement events in Hong Kong over the years, but has also invited a number of florists from Japan to Hong Kong for cultural exchanges, making a significant contribution to Hong Kong people's understanding of Japanese culture.
The Consul-General’s Commendation was presented to acknowledge the Hong Kong Branch of the Sogetsu Teachers’ Association’s significant achievements.
