Donations for the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake

  The Consulate-General of Japan in Hong Kong would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have expressed their condolences and sympathy and offered donations to the people affected by the earthquake that struck the Kumamoto Region of Kumamoto Prefecture.
 
  For those who wish to make donations to the people in the affected area, please use one of the 2 methods as detailed below (The Japanese Red Cross Society stopped receiving donations from overseas on 15 June 2016. In addition, the Consulate-General of Japan stopped forwarding donations to the Japanese Red Cross Society on 30 June 2016.):
 
  1. Making Donations Through the Bank Account Created by The Consulate-General of Japan
  An account has been created by the Consulate-General of Japan to accept donations. The relief fund received by the Consulate-General of Japan will be sent later to the account of the Government of Japan. All donations made to this account will be forwarded to the Government of Japan and will be distributed to the people affected by the earthquake.

  1. Subject: “Request for Receipt”
  2. Your name and contact information (address and phone number)
  3. Donation amount
  4. Date of donation deposit
  5. Name of the bank from which the donation was transferred

2. The Consulate-General of Japan accepts donations in cash and by cheque
   Please bring along the donations to the Consulate-General of Japan. Donations by cheque will also be accepted by post.

3.Donation Bank Account by Local Governments of the Affected Area
