Conferment of Decoration Mr. Frankie P. Wu
On 3 November 2020, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the Reiwa 2 Autumn Conferment of Decorations. The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette has been conferred on Mr. Frankie P. Wu in recognition of his contribution to promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and the People's Republic of China (Hong Kong). Details are as follows.

Mr. Frankie P. Wu became the Vice-Chairman of the Japan Society of Hong Kong in 1989, and has made great contributions to the promotion of cultural exchange between Japan and the People's Republic of China (Hong Kong) through organising various Japanese culture-related projects. Subsequently, as Chairman of the Japan Society of Hong Kong since 2013, Mr. Wu contributed to the development of the society and the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and the People's Republic of China (Hong Kong).
In addition, during his time as President of the Hong Kong Japanese Restaurant Association, owing to his deep concern that Japanese restaurants were suffering from reputational damage caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, and based on his experience in developing a food import company, he made great efforts to reduce the reputational damage to Japanese food.
In the 2009 Autumn Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals, the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays was also conferred on Mr. Wu for his contributions to the diffusion of Japanese food culture through Japanese food.
