Conferment of Decoration Mr. Pui Kwan Kay
   
  On 3 November 2020, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the Reiwa 2 Autumn Conferment of Decorations. The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays has been conferred on Mr. Pui Kwan Kay in recognition of his contribution to promoting the development of judo in Hong Kong and exchanges with Japan through judo. Details are as follows.

  Mr. Pui Kwan Kay became the 8th President of the Judo Association of Hong Kong, China in 1999. As president of the association, Mr. Pui has demonstrated outstanding leadership and devoted his efforts to running the association and training athletes for over 20 years. When Mr. Pui became the President of the association in 1999, the local membership was only 49, but it has now grown to 91 which is almost double the original number. Mr. Pui has made significant contributions towards expanding the scale of the judo community in Hong Kong.

  In addition, in order to raise the level of judo in Hong Kong, Mr. Pui has organised a series of local competitions, and made great efforts to create 6 new international judo competitions as president of the association. Mr. Pui has also made great contributions towards raising the level of judo in Asia, including Japan, as well as globally, and promoting exchanges through judo.
