Awarded the Foreign Minister's Commendation for FY 2020
 
  Mr. KURODA Yunoshin, Supervisor of OISCA Hong Kong Japanese Kindergarten, has been awarded the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2020.
 
  The Japanese Kindergarten in Hong Kong closed down some years ago. Since then, Mr. KURODA has made every effort to coordinate with various parties in order to meet the demand from the local community to re-open the kindergarten, and finally established of “OISCA Hong Kong Japanese Kindergarten” under the approval of the (then) Hong Kong Government Office in 1986. As Supervisor for the kindergarten, he has since played a key role in the operation. Moreover, Mr. KURODA has endeavored to establish more Japanese Kindergartens in the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia following those set up (in cities) in the Mainland China such as in Shanghai and Guangzhou. He has also actively promoted environmental protection activities focusing on afforestation in China, and has received a number of awards from local governments and foundations in China acknowledging his contribution towards greening.       
 
  The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awards for individuals and groups who have made outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and regions. Some 172 individuals and 66 groups have been awarded this year, including Mr. KURODA.
 
  The Foreign Minister’s Commendation Awarding Ceremony for Mr. KURODA will be held later in Hong Kong.
