Mr Yasuo ISHIMI, the Secretary-General of OISCA International Hong Kong is awarded the Consul-General’s Commendation

The Consul-General’s Commendation presentation ceremony for Mr Yasuo ISHIMI of OISCA International Hong Kong, was held on 6th January, 2022 and the award was presented by Ambassador OKADA Kenichi, Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong.

The Consul-General’s Commendation is an award presented by Ambassadors/Consul-Generals, in respective countries and regions, to individuals or groups who have contributed to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and foreign countries and regions.

Mr ISHIMI was transferred to work at OISCA International Hong Kong, an NGO that focuses on environmental protection, in 1996 and has been the Secretary-General since 2006. He has tenaciously put much effort into organising tree planting initiatives for students in Hong Kong, as well as inviting them to Japan to learn about the culture and environment. He has also conducted organic farm activities for both Hong Kong citizens and Japanese citizens in Hong Kong. He has passionately contributed to the promotion of mutual co-operation and friendship between Hong Kong citizens and Japanese citizens in Hong Kong for the past 25 years. The Consul-General’s Commendation was, therefore, presented to acknowledge Mr ISHIMI‘s tremendous achievements.
