Mr NG Hon Man, Former President of the Japan Universities Alumni Society (JUAS) Hong Kong, is awarded the Consul-General’s Commendation

               
　　The Consul-General’s Commendation presentation ceremony for Mr NG Hon Man, Former President of the Japan Universities Alumni Society (JUAS) Hong Kong, was held on 28^th July 2022 and the award was presented by Ambassador OKADA Kenichi, Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong.
 
　　The Consul-General’s Commendation is an award presented by Ambassadors/Consul-Generals, in respective countries and regions, to individuals or groups who have contributed to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and foreign countries and regions.
 
　　Mr Ng was elected as the President of the Japan Universities Alumni Society (JUAS) Hong Kong, in 1996. Over the following 10 years he devoted himself to promoting study in Japan, cultural exchanges between Japan and Hong Kong and friendship among members. During his tenure, he organised the “Hong Kong-Japan Calligraphy Exhibition” and the “Hong Kong-Japan Karaoke Contest” as key events under the “Hong Kong-Japan Year 2005”, as well as to commemorate the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of the JUAS.
 
　　He has also taken an active role in planning and implementing information sessions for Hong Kong students wishing to study in Japan and has organised various activities to promote friendship among JUAS members. Since 2006, Mr Ng has continued to play an active role as an advisor to the JUAS and has made a great contribution to the development of the Society.
 
　　Therefore, the Consul-General’s Commendation was presented in order to acknowledge Mr Ng’s tremendous achievements.
