Mr CHAN King Hung Kenneth, Former President of the Japan Universities Alumni Society (JUAS) Hong Kong, is awarded the Consul-Generals Commendation  
     
  The Consul-General’s Commendation presentation ceremony for Mr CHAN King Hung Kenneth, Former President of the Japan Universities Alumni Society (JUAS) Hong Kong, was held on the 3rd August 2022 and the award was presented by Ambassador OKADA Kenichi, Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong.  
   
  The Consul-General’s Commendation is an award presented by Ambassadors/Consul-Generals, in respective countries and regions, to individuals or groups who have contributed to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and foreign countries and regions.  
 
  Mr Chan was elected as President of the Japan Universities Alumni Society (JUAS) Hong Kong in 2006. During his 6 years of service, Mr Chan organised a number of events, including ‘study in Japan’ seminars and gatherings for members of the Society. The events were well attended by those interested in continuing their studies in Japan or even by people who just loved Japanese culture. Furthermore, he also arranged exchange activities for Japanese language learners in Hong Kong. All of these initiatives promoted Japan as an exceptional place to study and have further enhanced cultural exchanges between Japan and Hong Kong. Since 2006, Mr Chan has played an active role as an advisor to the JUAS and has made a significant contribution to the development of the Society. 
 
  Therefore, the Consul-General’s Commendation was presented in order to acknowledge Mr Chan’s tremendous achievements.
