The presentation ceremony of the Foreign Minister’s Commendation for 2025 for Prof. Wong Ka Wo, Simon, the chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants & Related Trades, was held on 11th November 2025 and the award was presented by Ambassador MIURA Jun, Consul-General of Japan in Hong Kong.
The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and regions. The Commendations also aim to promote the understanding and support of the Japanese public for these activities.
He assumed the position of Chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants and Related Trades in 2005. In 2023, he organised a Chinese cuisine event using Japanese ingredients in order to stimulate demand for Japanese food products and accelerate the mutual understanding between Japan and Hong Kong.
The Foreign Minister’s Commendation was presented to acknowledge Prof. Wong’s outstanding achievements.
